*grin of disgust as I shake my head in shame*

This is the leader of the free world.  Can’t you see the strength radiating from his aura?

  • He is an imbecile! LOL! Just absolutely, inconceivably CLUELESS. The mayor looks kinda pissed like "Yes I'm Asian, you don't have to bow"
  • cooter99
    The mayor is not Asian.
  • Funny, she looks Asian from here? Oh well, that makes it all the more absurd.
  • cooter99
Bowing is most often done to show respect to someone. I think that the leader of the most powerful nation in the world showing respect to other leaders is laudable.
  • JEWHAWK
" showing respect to other leaders is laudable"

    Respect, yes.
    Subservience, NO.

A handshake would do, don't you think ?

I'd admit this sharp-angled bow to the Pope, only.
  • Tommygun
To the Pope? Maybe if he were Roman Catholic, but there would be no reason for a Muslim to do so.
  • greg_O
Yazaaa, massa.....what you want this here 'bama to do fo you? Bow? "Zats OK....I beez yo humble servant, suh.....":
Oh right, right, I am the POTUS......
    I fogehs sometime massa!!!
  • mazabdul
Gute Arbeit, greg_O. Setzen Sie dieses dreckigen Neger auf seinem Platz. Er verbeugte sich, weil Menschen mit schwarzer Hautfarbe minderwertig sind. Slaves einmal Sklaven immer. It's so good to be white! Vielleicht werde ich Spaß an den Holocaust zu machen jetzt

I think you already have an idea what the translation is, klansman. Remember how people said anyone who criticized Obama would be called a racist. Well, if it makes you feel better, I'm sorry for misinterpreting your balanced and rational speculation on a photograph as racist.
  • hellosnackbar
Well Mazabdul I'm not sure Greg will understand your sarcasm in der Deutsche Sprache.
Spass an den Holocaust? Was fuer eine Spass waere das denn?(or is that just a piss take to demonstrate your German language proficiency?)
I think Greg was just trying to be a little jocular.
If you enjoy that type of thing there's lots of Bernard Manning videos on youtube.
  • CORRECTION: that "notion" was enshrined in our Declaration of Independence, third paragraph, first sentence . EXCUSE ME!
'SECOND PARAGRAPH,' first sentence, SORRY ABOUT THAT. GRRRRR
  • Tom
  • He bows down to everyone except the people he was elected to serve - common US citizens!

"I know my Teleprompter is somewhere. Nope that's just my dignity on the floor, Er can someone please stick the big key in my back and give it a couple of turns, I seem to have run down" Admiral Olson looks to be highly embarrassed. Why is he bowing to the mayoress of Tampa. Is it because she is more intelligent and has more experience of being a politician or has he just got into the habit of showing everybody his lobotomy scar. When asked about the incident POTUS revealed "For about an hour I forgot that the Mayoress was an American"
  • lain UK : That is a good one, referring to his lobotomy scar and the big key in my back, hysterical. I'm very concerned about his brain at this point: How INcorrect can Obama get before 'We The People' have had enough!
This gaffe is so typical of someone that thinks the United States has 57 states: Oh wait, it is Islam that has 57 states: hummmmmm?
In his First, State of the Union address , in his opening remarks Barack Obama said,

"Our Constitution declares that from time to time the president shall give to Congress information about the state of our union."
    Correct

Second, he asserted, "We find unity in our incredible diversity, drawing on the promise enshrined in our Constitution, the notion that we're all created equal..."
    INcorrect
that "notion" was enshrined in our Declaration of Independence, third paragraph, first sentence. One would think that this alleged professor of "Constitutional Law" at the University of Chicago Law School would have noticed such a simple, yet substantial, error.

I know most of you are from the strong right with an equally strong dislike for your President but really this is just lame and not worthy of a serious blog.

Anyone knows that a photographer can take a thousand photos of anyone and you will have your photo that can be then interpreted as you like. Your President has the tall-man's syndrome worse than most, which means he looks a bit goofy and awkward. He stoops too much, nods to acknowledge and it looks like a bow. His famous bow to the Saudi King was the same with him stopping one step to far and thus the bow failed, the one with the Japanese Emporor was made worse because that monarch is simply tiny. I noticed even efforts were made to make a thing about how he rubs his eyebrow with his middle finger thus making him look like he gives "the bird", I know a number of people who do that, including myself. I am 6'3" (or 193cms) and stoop so I know that aspect as well. It took me a lot of effort to change my style and I eventually gave up because it hurt my back.

Hate the guy that is fine as that is your politics, but making up stuff simply puts you in the fringe/desperate/low-class category, like the poster who keeps on stating that Obama is a Muslim or those idiots who post that all Muslims are radicals and seek a caliphate.
  • oh please...nobody's making things up. Americans don't like their leaders
"bowing" to ANYONE. Look back at American history and you'll find Obama is
the FIRST to do this. Tall syndrome? Please. There's at least 8 other past
Presidents either as tall or taller than Obama and they never bowed to
anyone. It's all about perception. I will criticize any US president who
projects weakness and pacifism such as this. How do you think this looks to
other foreign leaders? Especially our enemies. It sends a clear message.
Nothing is being made up. Again, you're grasping at straws trying to find
any excuse you can to antagonize the truth.
  • Thanks for the clear explanation :-) People from other societies sometimes don't grasp the message behind these 'bows' the way an American can.

Like with everything that comes out of Obama's mouth, these 'bows' are LIES. He doesn't intend to be subservient to anyone anywhere - he thinks too highly of himself in that respect - this is just all part of the act. Someone must have forgotten to prompt him with the fact that an Islamic leader would never bow to a woman!
  • warmmountain
Why in the world did he think this was a good idea? I notice that the mayor isn't bowing back.
