Honor Killing: 16 Year Old Muslim Girl Buried Alive for Befriending Boys

by Infidelesto on February 4, 2010 · Comments

This time in the “moderate” Muslim nation of Turkey, who I will admit is the closest thing to having a secular government (even though their President and PM are both Muslim) with a Muslim majority population, but still not close enough.  These kind of disgusting acts of Muslim barbarism still are happening in some parts of the country.

Hurryiet – Turkish English Daily (hattip: Jawa)

A 16-year-old girl was buried alive by relatives in southeastern Turkey in a gruesome honor killing carried out because she reportedly befriended boys, the Anatolia news agency reported Thursday.

Acting on a tip, police discovered the body of the girl, identified only as M.M., in a sitting position with her hands tied, in a 2-meter-deep hole dug under a chicken pen outside her house in Kahta, a town in the southeastern province of Adıyaman, the news agency reported.

The body was found in December, around 40 days after M.M. went missing. She is being identified by her initials because she was under the age of 18. Her father and grandfather are suspected in the murder.

A subsequent postmortem examination revealed that M.M. had a significant amount of soil in her lungs and stomach, indicating that she was buried alive and conscious….

Don’t expect any Muslim Fatwa on honor killings anytime soon…

She's a Muslim. That's the rule...stay away from the boys. When your father decides you are ready, he will tell you who to marry. It's Sharia law. I don't understand why the debate? Are Christians suggesting Muslims are wrong for following the dictates of their religion? Come now...surely not.

This religion/culture makes me want to vomit.....in my non "pc" opinion!
  • Spin, Solker, spin!

Some 'culture' you got yourself into!

But lets cut through your BS:

Spencer cites to two Islamic texts to argue that Islam sanctions honor killings. He references the 12th century Shafi’i legal manual Umdat al-Salik, more commonly known as The Reliance of the Traveler, where it says, "retaliation is obligatory against anyone who kills a human being purely intentionally and without right." However, "not subject to retaliation" is "a father or mother (or their fathers or mothers) for killing their offspring, or offspring's offspring." (Umdat al-Salik o1.1-2).

Spencer also references a hadith from Sahih Muslim, one of the two great Sunni hadith collections, where it says the following:

"The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) used not to kill the children, so thou shouldst not kill them unless you could know what Khadir had known about the child he killed, or you could distinguish between a child who would grow up to be a believer (and a child who would grow up to be a non-believer), so that you killed the (prospective) non-believer and left the (prospective) believer aside."

    - Sahih Muslim Book 019, Number 4457.
Spencer advises, “Until the Islamic roots of the practice are discussed openly and human rights groups begin calling for reform, honor killings will continue in the Islamic world - and in Muslim communities in the West.”

And that makes sense, Solker boy.

Your frenzied posting is getting more pathetic by the day. Where would you like me to sent that rope? Can I get an address?

It seems that you're also an Islamic scholar oh Sheikh;I admire anyone who is prepared to delve within the excreta of
the Koranus and similar terrorist manuals.
We have in the past been regailed by nonsequitural cut and paste quotes from the latter;and they're boring in the extreme.
It's logical fallacy from the authority of logical fallacy.(but brain dead Muslims are incapable of understanding that.
BTW Solkhar don't you find it difficult apologi sing for honour killings?
  • Solkhar
The spin is the speciality of that fool Spencer.

Spencer argues "on behalf of radicals" because it is to his advantage (ie selling more books) that their backwards interpetations are real. Add to that Spencer only ever quotes a small part of texts and then claims it represents the entire verse, subject or worse - that it represents somehow all of Islam.

Umdat al-Salik as you admit is a 12th century rule book, I guess you and Spencer seem to think that it is still the 12 century. How much does Umdat al-Salik effect the laws, judiciary and life of Muslim countries?

The quoting of Saih Muslim's version of events also simply says how things are/were/should have been to a 7th century tribal community and as mentioned above, Spencer avoids quoting the rest of those chapters because - and this is the qualification that Spencer seriously wishes to avoid - it clarifies the circumstances a bit further which is then clearly set for that time.

Spencer, I repeat, is a fool. He has sold himself out for cheap scandal to sell books and the only irony is that it is the all-talk gutless far-right idiots that buy from him and listen to him.

I am rather tired of the foolishness of fringe wannabe academics who talk about human rights, slavery and human-trafficking and yet have the arrogance to ignore their own countries.

For instance in the US, 7 million people are behind bars, on probation or on parole, of which 2.2 million were incarcerated making it the largest number of criminals in the world. China ranks second with 1.5 million. The United States has 5% of the the world’s population and 25% of the world's incarcerated population.
In 1998, nearly one out of three Black men between the ages of 20-29 were in prison or jail, on probation or parole on any given day. sourcing eji.org and prison.org

In 2004, there were 5.5 homicides for every 100,000 persons, roughly three times as high as Canada (1.9) and five times as high as Germany (1.0).[35][36] Most industrialized countries had homicide rates below the 2.5 mark. Overall the homicide rate in the United States was similar to that of Eastern European countries.

A 2008 FBI Uniform Crime Report on rape and sexual-based crime published by the United States Department of Justice stated that of the crimes surveyed, Whites represented 65.2% of persons arrested for rape, Blacks represented 32.2%, with American Indians and Asians ranking just above 1%. "Hispanics", "Hispanic-White" or "Hispanic-Black" was not specified into any specific category. http://www.fbi.gov/ucr/cius2008/data/table_43.html

I think certain Americans should first talk about their own problems before trying to side-track for agenda reasons what they think is problems only amongst one particular group. That is why Spencer is a certified bigot.

Spencer made a big thing about human trafficking saying it is again Islam inspired but only provides statistics in Muslim countries, something of an academic no-no. What Spencer avoids is, as usual, the entire picture or what in academic circles is known as "context."

What we know about human trafficking is :

244,000 – Number of American children and youth estimated to be at risk of child sexual exploitation, including commercial sexual exploitation, in 2000. Source: Estes, Richard J. and Neil A. Weiner. The Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.

38,600 – Estimated number of an approximate 1.6 million runaway/thrownaway youth at risk of sexual endangerment or exploitation in 1999. Source: U.S. Department of Justice: Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention

12-14 – Average age of entry into prostitution in North America. Source: Estes, Richard J. and Neil A. Weiner. The Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.

14,500 - 17,500 – Number of foreign nationals trafficked into the United States every year. Source: DOJ, HHS, DOS, DOL, DHS, and USAID. Assessment of U.S. Government Efforts to Combat Trafficking in Persons: June, 2004

161 – Countries identified as affected by human trafficking: o 127 countries of origin; 98 transit countries; 137 destination countries. Source: UN Office on Drugs and Crime, Trafficking in Persons: Global Patterns: April 2006.

http://www.unglobalcompact.org discribes the global problem as such :

An estimated 2.5 million people are in forced labour (including sexual exploitation) at any given time as a result of trafficking
    Of these:
1.4 million – 56% - are in Asia and the Pacific
250,000 – 10% - are in Latin America and the Caribbean
230,000 – 9.2% - are in the Middle East and Northern Africa
    130,000 – 5.2% - are in sub-Saharan countries
    270,000 – 10.8% - are in industrialized countries
    200,000 – 8% - are in countries in transition

    • 161 countries are reported to be affected by human trafficking by being a source, transit or destination count3

    • People are reported to be trafficked from 127 countries to be exploited in 137 countries, affecting every continent and every type of economy.

Spencer also said that the Muslim world does nothing against human trafficking because of Islamic belief.

UNODOC – The UN Office on Drugs and Crime held in conjunction with the Saudi Government in June 2009 the launch of a Protection Project study on “Combating Trafficking in Persons in Accordance with the Principles of Islamic Law”. The study was done through the cooperation of Naif University in Riyadh and John Hopkins University. (http://www.unodc.org/documents/human-traffickin...)

The document confirms the process of human trafficking as a cultural and human-evil and qualifies how Islamic principles conform and support the internationally accepted repugnance of human trafficking “……..explicitly prohibits many of the acts and elements that constitute trafficking in persons. Islam is particularly explicit on the prohibition of slavery.”

Slavery was common in pre-Islamic societies and Islam did not abolish slavery at the outset,
“―[L]ike the Hebrew Bible and the New Testament, the previously revealed texts of the Abrahamic faiths, the Qur‘an accepted the institution of slavery as an established part of the lives of believers. At the outset, it thus sought to humanize and regulate the practice of slavery rather than seek its outright and immediate abolition. Bernard K. Freamon, Slavery, Freedom, and the Doctrine of Consensus in Islamic Jurisprudence, 11 Harvard Human Rights Journal 1 (1998).”

The study states that “While the Qur‘an thus instructs Muslims to be kind to slaves73 and to treat them fairly,74 as can be gleaned from the foregoing discussion, Islamic teachings of the Qur‘an and the traditions of the Prophet were intended to gradually eliminate the institution of slavery. This gradual reform of slavery, rather than an outright abolition is consistent with the Islamic philosophy of gradual social change.”
An important point raised in this document is “Some of the practices outlined above are found throughout the contemporary Muslim world and are relevant to a discussion of trafficking in persons. Indeed, women and children are the targets of the most serious violations of human rights which occur in Muslim countries as a result of these harmful customary practices. However, these practices largely do not comply with Islamic doctrine. Most frequently, these practices either pre-date Islam, are based on tribal law, or are based on a misinterpretation of Qur'anic and Islamic principles.”

Now these things make sense, Werner.
  • Honor killing Solker troll sez:

"this is culture at work, as simple and as guesome as that"- agreed, solker, agreed! From Baghdad to Timbuktu and from Shittagong to Marrakech.

Islamic cult-(ure) at work, Solker troll.

    Couldn't agree more.

"Honor killings are a global issue.."

Also true. Because Mohammedanism has gone global. What else is new?

The spin is the speciality of ...? (the Solker troll)

“Moral Equivalence” is Neither Moral or Equivalent.

    Sample:

Cars kill more people annually than 9/11

Guns kill more people than Islamic terrorists

More people die of smoking/cancer annually than from Islamic terrorists.....

Not all Mohammedans are rapists, but most rapists in Europe are ........

    FGM is............ (fill in yourself)

Out of 1.5 gazillion Muhammad worshippers only a tiny minority are terrorists, their numbers are so tiny you won't even notice (if you don't look)

    That's just for starters, Solker.

Even as an Islamo propagandist I could do a better job than you.

    Want more?

Ah yes. Slavery. There you go:

PS.: We abolished slavery. Mohammedans glorify it.

    Mohammedanism thrives on it.

Without slavery, dhimmitude, the jiziya, Mohammedanism collapses.

But wait: there's always the Solker troll, slave of allah who keeps Moe's cult alive by growing a zebiba....
  • Solker fool: the price of meat has just gone up and your momma has just gone down (to suck of her warden!)

None of the crap to posted is relevant when it comes to Islamic jihad, of which you are a proponent, a fool and a tool.

    Pack it in!
  • Beejj
Just in case anyone tries to claim otherwise, this is Islam at work. It's as simple and as gruesome as that. Perhaps Mohammedans with a spot of learning to their name would not go this far, but so many of them have nothing the rest of us would deem to be learning, so expect such occurrences to continue.
  • Solkhar
Just in case anyone tries to "want to believe otherwise", this is culture at work, as simple and as guesome as that. Perhaps those with a spot of learning and are willing to open their eyes will realise that as much as they would love to point a finger, man has always sort power and the most base level is spousal abuse and forcing their family to do what they want. Many cultures have left that behind and the laws of countries eliminating it, but there are still many nations that do not face up to their responsibility to fully eliminate it.

The MSM and agenda based groups love to, of course, sensationalise and they capitialise on the fact that Muslims use the name of God in every aspect of their life and thus those that commit crimes will also do so. Honor killings are in fact a global issue, at varying degrees depending on social conditions and the power of the country to stop it. Killings in India almost certainly outnumber any in the Arab or Turkic world and in that country or in the west it is called simply murder, but because of the language used by Muslims, it is separated and targetted as being something more than just that.

Such events are terrible, horrible and governments have to do better, there is no doubt, having said that, it is no excuse for sensationalizing and agenda-based targetting, trying to skewere the reality and thus disrespecting all the murders of family members that exist and purposefully ignored by some people on this blog.
  • Beejj
Wrong, Solkhar; this is Islam at work. If you prefer, it is the culture that grows out of Islam at work. I understand why you hotly deny my assertion, and I'm sure I would do the same were I in your sorry shoes, but no amount of word play is going to change the fact that cases such as this derive from perceived transgressions of the set-in-concrete written word of your paedophile "prophet". I know nothing about honour murders by Hindus, Buddhists, Confucians and Christians, so perhaps you might take the trouble to enlighten me. Even if you are able to, I deny you the right to argue that since such horrors occur (you claim) under the mantle of other religions one should turn a blind eye to Islamic excesses, or not roundly damn Islam for fostering such bestiality.

Your use of the word "sensationalizing" in your final paragraph astounds me. To report the burial of a living girl for having befriended boys is sensationalism??? In the eyes of Mohammedans, perhaps. "Look at this, Achmet. These people have actually had the effrontery to publish such a trivial matter! May merciful Allah open their eyes and guide their thinking."
