In an unprecedented admission, the office of Israel’s Prime Minister revealed today that it is allowing the transfer of hundreds of millions of dollars to the Hamas terrorist organization in Gaza due to “Israeli diplomatic considerations.”

In a response letter sent to Attorney Nitsana Darshan-Leitner, director of human rights organization Shurat HaDin - Israel Law Center, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) wrote that the transfer of funds to the Hamas controlled government in the Gaza Strip does indeed regularly take place after “consultations among the relevant bodies.” Shurat HaDin had accused the Israeli government of secretly transferring hard currency to the Hamas.

“At this point,” states the PMO’s letter, dated June 25, 2008, “due to conclusions that there is an Israeli interest that the transfer of funds continue, a decision was made to continue to transfer certain sums of money to the Gaza Strip.”

Good news out of “moderate” muslim country Indonesia… If you are for islamic law, against free thought, creativity, and liberty, that is.

JAKARTA, Indonesia: A majority of Indonesians support establishing Islamic law, but fewer than half want measures such as cutting off the hands of thieves or forcing women to wear traditional Islamic dress, according to a national survey.

Australian polling agency Roy Morgan Research said Tuesday about 52 percent of people questioned between July 2007 and March 2008 favored introducing some form of Islamic law, or Shariah, in their areas.

While most of Indonesia’s 200 million Muslims practice a tolerant form of the faith, some groups want to chip away at the sprawling archipelago’s secular traditions and reshape it in the image of orthodox Middle Eastern countries.

Shariah, based on the Quran and the life and teachings of the Prophet Mohammed, takes several different forms in Muslim countries. It is used mostly as a system of family law in countries such as Egypt and Malaysia, while it governs all aspects of life in Saudi Arabia and Iran, which require head-to-toe clothing for women and chopping off the hands of thieves.

The Indonesia survey did not give the 8,000 participants a definition of Shariah, but follow-up questions sought their opinions about practices in conservative Islamic countries in the Middle East.

When asked if women should have to wear a headscarf, 45 percent of Indonesians answered “yes,” while 40 percent said they want thieves to have a hand removed as punishment. Just under a quarter said women should stay at home.

Practicing Indonesian Muslims generally believe their lives should be guided by their faith, but the survey showed some were unaware of the practical implications of strict Islamic law, said pollster Ira Soekirman.

“A lot of people think the idea is very good, but when you start talking of every day implications, the number dropped,” she said.

Gee, the number dropped? No shit? Indonesians don’t want to be stoned for suspicion of adultery, hanged for being homosexual, or killed for apostacy if they clear their heads and leave islam? Who’d have thought that!?

Attacks on Coptic Homes and Businesses in Al-Nazla

Barely a few weeks after the attacks on the Abu Fana monastery in El-Menya, Coptic homes and businesses in the village of Al Nazla, in the Fayoum province south of Cairo were attacked by their Muslim neighbors. The attackers shouted “Allah Akbar” and “Kill the infidels” as they hurled stones at their Christian neighbors’ homes.

The attackers took to the streets on June 19, 2008 after the disappearance of Dalia Makram, a Christian convert to Islam. Dalia, or Demiana as she was known before her conversion to Islam, converted to Islam in order to marry Hamada Sayed Zaki about two years ago.

After her conversion to Isam, the authorities detained members of her family justifying the move as” to protect her if they thought of harming her” Dalia’s family subsequently left the village and moved elsewhere.

On the 19th June, Dalia went to Cairo with her husband and child to visit a sick relative. She later disappeared and rumors spread that her Christian family abducted her. This spurred the Muslims of Al-Nazla to gather and attack Copts homes in an act of retribution, even though the Copts in the village had nothing to do with the matter.

Muslim Mindset: ‘The hatred is in Muhammad himself’

To Westerners and moderate Muslims shocked by the radical form of Islam now topping nightly newscasts, the efforts of liberal-minded Muslims like Tawfik Hamid, Italian Sheikh Abdul Hadi Palazzi and a handful of others may seem like the perfect solution. Not so for Ali Sina, who has a different suggestion: destroy Islam.

Sina, who runs Faith Freedom International - an Internet forum dedicated to debunking Islam - calls himself “probably the biggest anti-Islam person alive.” The publication of his latest book, Understanding Muhammad: A Psychobiography of Allah’s Prophet, will likely cement that position. In it, Sina suggests that Islam’s central figure suffered from a series of mental disorders, including narcissistic personality disorder, temporal lobe epilepsy and obsessive compulsive disorder.

“These disorders,” he says via telephone, “can explain the phenomenon known as Islam… which is nothing but one man’s insanity.”

Sina grew up a non-practicing Muslim. Raised in Iran, educated in Pakistan and Italy and now living in Canada, he began jousting with believers in the 1990s. What bothered him, he tells The Jerusalem Post, was not the penchant for jihad and intolerance that certain fanatical Muslims displayed, but the foundation for such ills in the Koran and core Islamic texts.

(Through the Faith Freedom Web site, Sina lists canonical references to Muhammad’s actions and offers $50,000 to anyone who can disprove Sina’s charge that Islam’s prophet was “a narcissist, a misogynist, a rapist, a pedophile, a lecher, a torturer, a mass murderer, a cult leader, an assassin, a terrorist, a mad man and a looter.” Respondents relentlessly attack Sina’s motives, but none has won the prize.)

With violent conquest and contempt for non-believers central to the tenets of the faith, Sina argues, attempts to forge a moderate form of Islam are doomed.

“The idea that Islam can be reformed is a fallacy,” he scoffs. “It’s like saying we can reform Nazism and it will be a wonderful party.”

No, says Sina, “The only way to reform Islam is to throw away the Koran; 90 percent of it should be thrown away. You also have to throw away the history of Islam, and you have to completely disregard the Sira” - the Arabic term used for the various traditional Muslim biographies of Muhammad, from which most historical information about his life and the early period of Islam is derived.

For this reason, Sina says, Western suggestions that extremism in Islam can be eradicated if certain imams are quieted, or if Muslims are encouraged to embrace the universalist elements of their faith - but without addressing the extremism inherent in the religion’s texts - are based on a mistaken comparison of Islam to Christianity.

“In the West, people ask whether Islam can undergo a reformation like the one that Christianity underwent. That’s a poor parallel,” he says. “In Christianity, it wasn’t the religion that needed to be reformed, but the church; what Jesus preached was good.”

On the other hand, Sina continues, “In Islam, it’s not the community that is bad, but the religion. Islam has nothing like ‘Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.’ Islam is full of hatred, and the hatred is in Muhammad himself. I argue in my book that Muhammad was insane - and that Muslims, by emulating him and by emulating his ways, his insanity is bequeathed to them.”

Militants in the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip fired at least two rockets into southern Israel on Tuesday, breaching a five-day-old cease-fire.

The attack came hours after Israeli troops killed two Palestinians in a West Bank raid. The victims included an Islamic Jihad commander. The militant group later claimed responsibility for firing the rockets, saying the attack was intended to avenge the Israeli operation.

The West Bank is not formally part of the Gaza truce. But the Israeli raid could be seen as violating the spirit of the cease-fire.

Islamic Jihad, a small armed group backed by Syria and Iran, claimed responsibility for the rocket fire. Although the West Bank is not included in the truce, the group said the Nablus raid had soured the atmosphere of calm.

“We cannot keep our hands tied when this is happening to our brothers in the West Bank,” the militant group said.

Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri said the rocket attack came because of “Israeli provocation this morning” and added that Hamas was “committed to the calm.” He said Hamas will talk with other factions and make sure they are committed, too.

Say what?  The Israelis didn’t attack Gaza, and they didn’t attack Hamas.  They continued to work against those who plot to kill Israelis, and Islamic Jihad — the third leg in the Palestinian Triangle Strategy — has no standing in the cease-fire.   How can MS-NBC “see” this as violating the “spirit” of the cease fire?

Hamas claimed Gaza as its territory and has responsibility for any actions that come out of the Strip.  They agreed to the cease fire for Gaza and now have to account for the actions of their partners.  If they can’t stop the missile attacks, then they have no standing to negotiate cease-fires at all.

More likely, this is the beginning of another Triangle Strategy play.  Two Palestinian parties agree to a cease-fire agreement with the Israelis, while the third continues their attacks and their operations.   When the Israelis respond, the other two claim that the Israelis broke their word and are the aggressors, and the cease-fire collapses.

Not even the Palestinians fall for this game any longer.  Unfortunately, MS-NBC is more gullible than most.

Yet they complain when terrorists are jailed and made to play naked twister.

Somalia: Pirates Deny Food for Russian Captives

The livelihood situation for Russian sailors on board a ship captured by pirates off Somalia’s coast last month is deteriorating sources said.

The captain of the German-owned Lehmann Timber ship was able to contact his family, and his father says the sailors have no food, no fresh water and no medical aid.

“The pirates are tired of waiting for a ransom from the ship owner. So they vent it on the crew members. The seamen have been lying without moving for days on end now,” says Vladimir Bartashev, captain’s father.

The ship, seized three weeks ago, could run out of fuel within two days.

Besides the fifteen-man crew from Russia, Ukraine, Estonia and Myanmar, there are about 25 pirates on board.

Reports suggest some of the pirates are constantly under the influence of drugs and they’re starting to squabble with each other.

The ship’s owner has reportedly collected money demanded by the pirates and is now looking into ways of delivering the ransom, as time is crucial to the success of the rescue operation.

What really pisses me off is that pirates in Africa kidnap people constantly, and the dumbass shipping agencies refuse to arm the ship’s crews to DEFEND THEMSELVES. These Somali pirates are no different than the jihadists in Iraq, Afghanistan and Gaza. When faced with armed opposition they die. So they pick on the defenseless.
