All Afghan immigrant Morsal Obeidi wanted to do was integrate into German society. Her reward for wanting to be part of German society? Her own brother killed her for bringing shame upon the family.

At age 16, all Morsal Obeidi wanted was to live the way other girls in Germany do. She paid dearly: Obeidi’s brother stabbed her 20 times. Her murder has sparked a renewed debate in Germany about the failure of many immigrant families to integrate into Western society.

Morsal is buried one week after her death. In the morning, the women wash the body, cleansing it of its earthly sins, in keeping with tradition.

The teenage girl’s thin body is covered with stab wounds, evidence of the knife that was plunged into her torso. The women wrap the body in linen and lay it into a coffin made of a light-colored wood.

At noon, six men lift the coffin to their shoulders and begin walking, leading a procession of 200 men and women dressed in black. Ghulam-Mohammed Obeidi, the father — who lost his daughter and now, more than likely, his son in a single night — is at the center of the group. They walk along a path that leads to the new Muslim section at the back of a cemetery in Hamburg’s Öjendorf neighborhood, to where a group of construction workers stand leaning against an excavating machine. The women stop as the men carry the coffin to the grave, which is lined with boards, a rectangular hole in the ground with pale sand piled up around its edges.

This is where the story ends, with the body of a stabbed girl being brought to her grave. Her name was Morsal Obeidi, and she was 16. Born in Afghanistan, she died a few days ago, in a parking lot in Hamburg.

In the years between her birth and her death, Morsal Obeidi tried to lead the kind of life she believed was correct, the kind of life other girls in her school led. Perhaps she was trying to do precisely what politicians and social workers are constantly encouraging immigrants to do: to become integrated.

A Life in Two Worlds

But her parents and her family — especially Ahmad, her oldest brother — were an obstacle to integration. In the end, Morsal Obeidi was torn apart by the need to live a life in two worlds, and by the daily struggle to be the kind of person she wanted to be.

Morsal met with Mohammed, her cousin, on the evening of May 15, a Thursday. They were sitting in a McDonald’s restaurant. Morsal had only been back in the city for a few months, after a prolonged visit with relatives in Afghanistan. It was spring in Hamburg. As they ate, Mohammed thought about the plan that he was keeping a secret from Morsal. It seemed harmless enough. Mohammed said later that Ahmad, Morsal’s brother, had asked him to bring his sister to the Berliner Tor train station. “He said to me: ‘I want you to meet Morsal today. Then walk to the Berliner Tor with her. But don’t tell her anything. I just want to talk to her.”

It seemed harmless enough.

Another innocent victim of islam, as it continues its assault on all things Western.

The shots came from nowhere and within minutes the young Turkish mother standing at the Berlin bus stop was dead. A telephone call from a relative had brought her to this cold, unforgiving place. She thought she would only be gone for a few minutes and wore a light jacket in the freezing February wind. She had left her five-year-old son asleep in his bed. He awoke looking for his mother, who, like many Turkish women in Germany, harbored a secret life of fear, courage and, ultimately, grief. Now her little boy has his own tragedy to bear: His mother, Hatin Surucu, was not the victim of random violence, but likely died at the hands of her own family in what is known as an “honor killing.”

Hatin’s crime, it appears, was the desire to lead a normal life in her family’s adopted land. The vivacious 23-year-old beauty, who was raised in Berlin, divorced the Turkish cousin she was forced to marry at age 16. She also discarded her Islamic head scarf, enrolled in a technical school where she was training to become an electrician and began dating German men. For her family, such behavior represented the ultimate shame — the embrace of “corrupt” Western ways. Days after the crime, police arrested her three brothers, ages 25, 24 and 18. The youngest of the three allegedly bragged to his girlfriend about the Feb. 7 killing. At her funeral, Hakin’s Turkish-Kurdish parents draped their only daughter’s casket in verses from the Koran and buried her according to Muslim tradition. Absent of course, were the brothers, who were in jail…

Currently, six boys are serving time in Berlin’s juvenile prison for honor killings.

When the murder first happened, it sent no shock waves through the mainstream German press. It only became big news when a group of 14-year-old Turkish boys mocked Hatin during a class discussion at a school near the crime scene. One boy said, “She only had herself to blame,” while another insisted, “She deserved what she got. The whore lived like a German.”

Convert to Christianity flees Jordan under threat to lose custody of his children

Those tolerant muslims just keep on tolerating…

AMMAN, JORDAN (ANS) — Muhammad Abbad Abd al-Qader Abbad, a 40 year old Jordanian who converted to Christianity 15 years ago, left Jordan on Friday March 28 after being charged with apostasy before the North Amman Shari’a Court.

Middle East Concern says that Muhammad and his wife Muna al-Habash, have two children: Joy, age 11, and Salam, age 9.

The organization said that on Sunday, March 23, Muhammad and Muna were attacked and beaten by several brothers-in-law of another convert to Christianity who had sought sanctuary in Muhammad’s home. Muhammad’s son, Salam, was also hit several times as he tried to protect his father.

“After the beatings Muhammad’s father reported his son to the police and asked for custody of the couple’s two children,” said a spokesperson for Middle East Concern. “When Muhammad went to the police to file a complaint against his attackers he was told to come back the next day. When he returned the following morning he was brought to the governor’s office where he was asked about his conversion to Christianity. He was then sent to the Shari’a court and charged with apostasy. Muhammad’s father was in the court as well and asked the judge t grant him custody of his two grandchildren.

So not only does the poor guy have to deal with the beatings and continued death threat from his own family, in addition to shariah (or as I call it, terrorist) court, he also is facing the tearing apart of his family. That islam is really a peaceful and tolerant cult, isn’t it?

Why? Because she was found “with a boy in her room”

Islam related? Doesn’t say in the article, but I wouldn’t be surprised…

The victim’s grandmother, Natho (60), told Newsline that her sons killed Mamta after they found a boy, Pintu (14), her schoolmate, in her room late on Friday night. Father Jagdish Singh and his brother Soni Singh then allegedly burnt her body and dumped it in a well.

The police are, however, yet to recover the body and have registered a case of murder against Singh and his two brothers, who are at large.

And the Grandmother SAYS SHE DESERVED IT.  Sick people…

Natho said Mamta was dear to her, but what she did was “unacceptable” and that she “deserved” the punishment. “How could she let a boy into her room?”

“We were sleeping and were supposed to wake early because there was a wedding in the family. Around 9.30 pm, I heard a noise and went to Mamta’s room. I saw Pintu there. Seeing the boy, her father and uncles got angry and started beating her up. The beating continued till she died,” Natho said with a straight face.
