Being a Texan, I agree 100% with parents who are angry. No prayer is allowed in schools, because some find it offensive, but promoting islam is allowed. These people have no business in public schools. If you allow muslims, then you MUST allow Christians, Jews, Hindi, Buddhists etc… to come in and ‘educate’ (islamic code for indoctrinate).

Muslim speakers outrage parents

FRIENDSWOOD — A presentation to Friendswood junior high students about Islam has ignited a furor among some parents.

Parents of Friendswood Junior High School students started a letter campaign to school officials in protest of a presentation meant to combat hate and bullying.

On May 22, two Muslim women gave a 30-minute presentation about Islamic culture as part of a yearlong study at the school of respect, tolerance and culture, according to a statement from district officials.

Principal Robin Lowe had “best intentions,” said Karolyn Gephart, district spokeswoman. The guest speakers discussed Muslim culture, including topics such as food, religion, dress, beliefs and famous Muslims, Gephart said.

“If you pulled a book about Islam from the library, you would find the same stuff in the book,” Gephart said. “There was no proselytizing.”

Parents, however, were not told about the presentation. By district policy, parents are supposed to be informed about the purpose and content of presentations so that they can keep their children out of the presentation if they think the material might be offensive or inappropriate.

Not informing parents beforehand was a mistake that would not happen again, Gephart said.

Kim Leago, who’s son is in the eighth grade at the junior high, said she’s still upset that her child was exposed to the “inappropriate” presentation.

“We can’t say ‘One nation under God’ in school, so I definitely don’t think (the presentation) was the right choice,” she said.

Choosing to teach about Islamic culture was the “worst choice” of any religion, Leago said.

“I’m not a prejudiced person … but Muslims, from what I know of the faith, don’t want to be incorporated with Americans,” she said. “Look at what’s going on in the world right now, with the war and with 9/11.”

And of course there was a “moderate” muslim who responded to the angry parents, with a giant dose of taqqiya.

Dr. Ahmed Ahmed, a member of the board of directors for the Galveston Islamic Center, said there’s a common misperception that Muslims are somehow un-American. The few Muslims that have tainted the faith as terrorists have helped spread the myth that Islam is violent and extremist.

“Muslims in the U.S. are Americans, not intruders,” he said. “They are not invaders; they are not outsiders. We are all Americans, and we are all working toward a better America.”

Citing Islamic directives extolling the virtues of patience, tolerance, dignity, passion, cleanliness and obedience, Ahmed said the presentation given to Friendswood Junior High School students should be part of the educational process for all young Americans.

“A student who knows is much better than a student who does not know,” he said.

I agree that one in the know has more power than one without knowledge. I educated myself on the TRUTH about islam. That is why I contribute to this site and will never capitulate to islam.

CAIR is complaining that the use of a building as a mosque, replete with muslim terrorists holding civilian hostages portrays muslims in a negative light.

Storming of Illinois ‘Mosque’ Sends Wrong Message, Islamic Group Says

(CNSNews.com) - As part of a recent emergency preparedness drill in south-central Illinois, law enforcement personnel stormed a “mosque” where radical gunman were holding hostages.

The “gunmen” and hostages were playing a part, and the building wasn’t really a mosque. And that bothers an Islamic advocacy group.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) opposes the stereotyping of Muslims as radicals.

“The use of a fake ‘mosque’ in this type of drill sends the wrong message to law enforcement officials who may now view mainstream institutions, such as Islamic houses of worship, as potential security threats,” said Ahmed Rehab, executive director of CAIR’s Chicago chapter.

According to the Hillsboro, Ill., Journal-News, dozens of government agencies took part in last week’s training exercise in the town of Irving.

A local addiction treatment center was re-named the “Irving mosque” for purposes of the drill.

Officers from the Illinois Law Enforcement Alarm System (ILEAS) stormed the “mosque” in an armored car. One “hostage” was wired with “explosives,” and the “suspects” in the “mosque” released nerve gas.

The Journal-News quoted the local emergency management director Diana Holmes as thanking everyone involved — “especially the folks in Irving who allowed us to use their community for this exercise. The ladies who did all the food prep did an excellent job,” she told the paper.

CAIR said it agrees that law enforcement officers should be trained to deal with hostage-taking as well as chemical, biological and bomb attacks. “We are only questioning the wisdom of linking the American Muslim community and its institutions to such incidents,” Ahmed Rehab said.

Well maybe, and I am by no means a genius, if muslims in America would stop sending money to terrorists, stop trying to islamize MY country, stop preparing for acts of terror, like those hajis in New Jersey, the Fort Dix Six, and stop defending and justifying terrorism as anything other than an ingrained part of the cult of islam, we would stop stereotyping them as terrorists (I will not be PC and call them radicals. If they want to overrun my country and install shariah and their cult as the source of what they call law and justice - where women can be stoned, homosexuals can be hanged, and apostates and non-muslims are legal to kill for not being muslim - they are terrorists who should be deported.).

If you tarry in front of the Masjid At-Taqwa in the Bedford-Stuyvesant district and dare to take a photo, you might get hauled away by a group of angry Muslims in Islamic attire to the basement of the facility where a group of twenty “security guards” in karate suits will interrogate you.

This sounds preposterous.

But it happened on a weekend in late April at 3:00 in the afternoon.

Ali Kareem, the head of security for Siraj Wahaj’s mosque, conducted the grilling. A small, muscular man with a wispy black beard that has been dyed red with henna, Kareem demanded to know the reason why a trio of kafirs had dared to photograph the building on a public street without securing his permission.

He further insisted on securing our identities and obtaining our motives for such a violation of Islamic space.

Being surrounded by a group of militant guards in a mosque basement from which there is no means of escape is not a comforting place to be for a Wall Street financier.

I wish those camel banging terrorists would try something like that with me, or with any gun owner who is licensed to carry a concealed weapon.

Arab News — US Ambassador Ford Fraker said in Sakaka that his country aims to double the number of student visas issued to Saudis.

“Currently there are 15,000 Saudi students in the US,” he said during an event on Sunday with local business leaders to an audience at the Al-Jouf Chamber of Commerce and Industry. “We aim to increase their numbers to 30,000 over the next five years.”

Not only that, but he wants to make it EASIER for Saudis to get Visa’s

In order to facilitate increased mutual visits, Fraker said he is working to simplify the issue of visas to Saudi businessmen.

As we all know, the majority of the 9-11 terrorists were from Saudi Arabia.  Did we not learn ANYTHING from the most horrific event in American History?  What the hell is wrong with these people?

CAIR Extremist to Speak on Extremism

On Tuesday, April 8, 2008, the head of the Michigan office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), Dawud Walid, will be giving a speech about extremism and terrorism, at Grand Valley State University, in Allendale, Michigan, hosted by the Muslim Students Association. But how can such topics be discussed, when the speaker is a known extremist, and the organization he represents has been involved in terrorism?

Dawud Walid is the Executive Director of CAIR-Michigan. The organization is a local chapter of the group that was recently named a co-conspirator for a Hamas financing trial that took place in Dallas, Texas. As well, in a December 2007 court brief filed by the United States government for a different Hamas-related trial, it is stated that “CAIR conspired with other affiliates of the Muslim Brotherhood to support terrorists.”

Walid has held his position with CAIR, since July of 2005. In the nearly three years he has sat at the group’s helm, Walid has issued numerous statements that can be described as nothing less that outrageous.

The irony of having a terrorist/extremist supporter speak on extremism is not lost on me. That they continue to walk among the free, and that CAIR (I affectionately call them the NAACB - National Association for Advancement of Car Bombers) has not been disbanded, and their ilk jailed and then deported, is an outrage and a travesty.

Binghamton, N.Y., grants permit for Milad-un-Nabi event

Muslim leaders at an encampment in the Catskill Mountains called “Islamberg” have been granted a permit by the city of Binghamton, N.Y., to hold a parade Saturday in honor of Muhammad’s birthday.

The holiday, called Milad-un-Nabi, will be celebrated by a group of families who live at the nearby property owned by Muslims of the Americas Inc.

The city has scheduled the parade for 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the downtown area, including its main street. A report in the local Press & Sun-Bulletin said the celebration previously held on the group’s own property this year is being expanded.
