Academy Award winning actor to celebrate Israel’s 60th anniversary with rocket-battered city’s residents, terror victims

Oscar winner Jon Voight is coming to Israel next week for his first solidarity visit to salute the Jewish state in honor of its 60th birthday.

World-renowned for his roles in “Midnight Cowboy,” “Coming Home,” “Deliverance,” “Mission Impossible,” “Ali and National Treasure,” among others, Voight will welcome Chabad’s Children of Chernobyl’s (CCOC) 80th rescue mission airlifting children from irradiated regions in Ukraine, Belarus and Western Russia to Israel; visit Sderot, which has endured 7,000 Hamas missiles and numerous casualties; comfort terror victims; and, go to Yad Vashem.

“I’m coming to salute, encourage and strengthen the people of Israel on this joyous 60th birthday,” said Voight. “This week is about highlighting Israel as a moral beacon. At a time when its enemies threaten nuclear destruction, Israel heals.

“Israel is a haven from nuclear horrors for thousands of Chernobyl survivors who suffer the consequences of the worst environmental disaster in history. I personally want to welcome the youngsters aboard Chabad’s Children of Chernobyl’s 80th Rescue Mission—it is a great honor to help save a child’s life.”

May the land of Israel last not just another 60 years, but another 5000.

Leftists disrupt Christian youth festival in Bremen

A traditional Christian youth festival in Germany faced unprecedented disruptions by leftists who hacked the gathering’s website, interrupted speeches and threw beer bottles at visitors, organizers said on Tuesday

Christival, a periodical gathering of Protestant Christian youth in Germany founded in 1976, was meant to be a chance for likeminded young people to meet up and celebrate their faith.

But thousands of attendees at this year’s festival in the northern city of Bremen found themselves under siege by leftist extremists determined to protest what they saw as Christian intolerance to homosexuality and abortion.

“There have never been disruptions of this kind in the entire history of the event,” Christival spokesman Steve Volke told The Local on Tuesday. “They tried to storm the festival area. They threw beer bottles at participants. The whole five days of the festival there was always something happening.”

The man who won’t talk to Hamas but will talk to Iran, invokes Kennedy, Roosevelt and Truman as justification for him wanting to talk to Iran to convince them not to hate us or attempt to destroy Israel.

The other side can label and name-call all they want, but I trust the American people to recognize that it is not surrender to end the war in Iraq so that we can rebuild our military and go after Al Qaida’s leaders.

I trust the American people to understand that it is not weakness, but wisdom to talk not just to our friends, but to our enemies, like Roosevelt did, and Kennedy did, and Truman did.

Um I don’t recall Truman picking up the phone and calling the Emperor of Japan before he dropped Nukes on Hiroshima and Nagasaki…I don’t recall Kennedy phoning the VietCong before he invaded Vietnam…I don’t recall Roosevelt phoning Hitler just before we invaded Normandy…

What does he think he’s going to accomplish by “talking” to someone who has a religious hatred and contempt for everything the US stands for?

From an Australian whose son is in Iraq

This is a GREAT letter from an Australian Soldier to his father, singing OUR Troops’ praises for their bravery and dedication to the mission.

Gentlemen

I am an Australian and my son is an Australian - as far as we are concerned there is not place on
God’s earth better than Australia, and there are no people better than Australians.

That was until the past week or so.

My son is in the Australian Army and he is currently on deployment in Iraq. I can not go into his duties in great depth, but shall we say that he and his fellow army buddies are on a glorified guard duty looking after the Australian Embassy. They don’t go out looking for “action”, though it is a different story in Afghanistan, there the Aussie troops chase the baddies over the hills and into the valleys..

My son and I just ended a long ‘phone conversation and here are some of his comments, believe me this is what he said. We have all seen the bullshit emails written by some clown in his lounge room
pretending to be at the coal face, but this is what was said.:

“Before I came over here I thought we (the Australian Army ) were pretty shit hot….. was I ever wrong! ….The Yanks (I hope you don’t mind me using that word) are so professional from the top to the bottom that it is almost embarrassing to be in their company, and to call yourself a soldier….don’t get me wrong, we are good at what we do but the Yanks are so much better…..they are complete at what they do, how they do it and their attitude is awesome….they don’t complain they just get on with the job and they do it right….. I carry a Minimi (SAW) so I am not real worried about a confrontation but, I tell you, I feel safer just knowing that the US Army is close by….

I feel an even greater sense of gratitude for being an American, when I read stuff like this where someone in another country doesn’t suffer from BDS (Bush Derangement Syndrom) or RCIS (Rectal-Cranial Inversion) and actually appreciates the GOOD that the United States does.

Myanmar cyclone death toll tops 10,000: foreign minister

More than 10,000 people have been killed in a tropical cyclone that struck Myanmar at the weekend, Foreign Minister Nyan Win told state television, adding that his nation would welcome international aid.The United Nations had earlier said hundreds of thousands of people had been left homeless when the storm, packing winds of 190 kilometres (120 miles) per hour, ripped through the countryside, destroying entire villages in its fury.

Thousands of buildings were flattened as the furious cyclone also ripped power lines to shreds, uprooted trees that blocked key roads and disrupted water supplies in the main city and former capital, Yangon.

“I haven’t seen anything like this in my whole life,” one elderly resident told AFP.

Muslim rebels expel Christians

Muslim rebels have forced hundreds of mainly Christian families off their farms in the southern Philippines, escalating tensions in the region ahead of the withdrawal of Malaysian peace monitors next week.

Rolando Garcia, mayor of Kalamansig town on the troubled southern island of Mindanao, said that heavily-armed members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) claimed the farmers’ land belonged to the Muslim minority.

“We have about 1,200 people in our temporary shelter areas…afraid to return to their farms,” Garcia told reporters, adding rice was about to be harvested when the rebels came late on Wednesday.

The 11,000-strong MILF is meant to be observing a ceasefire and a spokesman for the rebel group said he was unaware of any land seizures.

Of course the terrorists are unaware of land seizures. They cannot steal something that their pig-god allah has ordained is theirs to begin with, in their 7th century mentality. And of course the main stream media in the US is silent on this. Why? Because it negatively affects Christians, and those hippie liberal baby-killers (by abortion) love that.

UK: Random Muslim stabs two random Orthodox Jews; no “faith hate” involved

A man has been charged following a double knife attack on two Orthodox Jews in Golders Green.
Mohamed Jama Ahmed, 37, of North Circular Road, Cricklewood, was arrested after two stabbings which happened just meters apart in roads off Golders Green Road on Friday.

A Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said the attacks, which happened at around 6pm, appear to have been random and unprovoked, but were not being treated as faith hate crimes….

• randomly flew airplanes into the World Trade Center’s Twin Towers,
• randomly launch rockets at Israel, randomly blow up trains in England and Spain,
• randomly hi-jack airplanes and blow them up in mid-air,

• randomly hold rallies chanting “DEATH TO AMERICA”
• randomly rape non-muslim women who refuse to wear an outfit that looks like a cloth garbage bag.

Too bad we can’t “randomly” drop a few thousand cluster bombs on mecca and medina, or better yet Fat Man II and Little Boy Jr.
