The UN is becoming more and more like a festering pus-filled boil that needs to be lanced.
Six-year-olds sexually abused by UN peacekeepers
Sexual abuse of children as young as six by aid workers and United Nations peacekeepers has continued unchecked despite repeated promises to stamp it out, according to a 12-month investigation.
More than half of the children interviewed in three countries, Ivory Coast, South Sudan and Haiti, knew of cases of forced sex with aid staff or peacekeepers.
The assaults were often in return for the very food or protection supposed to be provided to the vulnerable in a crisis.
Similar allegations have dogged UN missions since the organisation sent peacekeepers to Cambodia in the 1990s. However, today’s report, from Save The Children, is the first to point the finger at civilian aid staff, including those working for British charities, as well as soldiers
Its findings suggest a continuing lack of action despite promises to tackle alleged abuse made at a conference of UN officials and aid agencies in December 2006.
Six months after that meeting’s stern commitments, 12-year-old “Elizabeth” claimed that she was walking to tend her mother’s fields past the camp of a battalion of UN peacekeepers in northwestern Ivory Coast.
“There were men there who called my little brother over and gave him biscuits,” she haltingly told The Daily Telegraph last week in a village close to the town of Man.
“I refused to go, but one man came to me and held me by my dress and took me into the bush far from the road. His friends came, there were 10 of them. They held me down and raped me one by one. I could not flee. They were big men.
Afterwards I ran to my village, I was crying all night and vomiting. Even today I have medical problems. I can never forget that thing, it is stuck in my mind and I keep seeing it happen over and over like a film.”
Too fearful to leave the security of her village, she has dropped out of school. Even now, almost a year later, she says she freezes with fear whenever she sees a white UN or aid agency vehicle.
Elizabeth’s case is not unique among the 341 children interviewed.
Yet another reason the UN needs to be banned from the United States, and dissolved. In its place a coalition of DEMOCRATIC Nations (read: No islamic totalitarian states, no communist dictatorships, like Venezuela and Cuba).

Here’s a shocker!!! Torture in a muslim country! No way!!!! I am in disbelief…
U.N. body says torture widespread in Indonesia
A UN rights body says Indonesia’s police, armed forces and intelligence services routinely torture and degrade criminal suspects to extract confessions.
The U.N. Committee Against Torture says it is “deeply concerned about numerous ongoing credible and consistent allegations” of abuse in the Indonesian justice system.
In a report released in Geneva the 10-member independent panel says military officials and police have used disproportionate force and violence, particularly against women, in the Aceh province and other areas of conflict.
It says attacks on ethnic and religious minorities remains a problem in Indonesia.
The committee says no state official accused of perpetrating torture has been found guilty, this despite efforts to combat rights abuses.
The UN panel has called on Jakarta to take immediate steps to uphold legal safeguards for those taken into custody.
Nothing surprising at all, to be honest. But I did get a good laugh about the UN calling on Indonesia to uphold legal safeguards. I guess they forgot about Iraq, Iran, Hezbollah, Hamas, and all those other muslim countries and terrorist groups ignoring their requests to stop torture and blowing themselves up.

Another muslim country demonstrates just how much they value women in islam.
Teenage trafficking on the rise in northern Nigeria
KANO, Nigeria (AFP) — The trafficking of teenage girls from poor villages to northern Nigerian cities to work as domestic help for meagre wages is on the rise, officials said at the weekend.
“The business of recruiting teenagers as domestic help is booming despite our efforts to put a stop to it,” said Bello Ahmed, head of the Kano office of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Traffic in Persons (NAPTIP), in charge of 18 northern and central states.
The girls, usually between the ages of 12 and 17, are paid around 1,500 naira (13 dollars, eight euros) a month, money that they send to their parents, Ahmed told AFP.
However meagre the wage, for the parents it means a little more cash and one mouth fewer to feed.
Ahmed said NAPTIP has succeeded in putting a stop to the practice of ferrying the house girls into the cities in trucks “like chickens”.
But if transport methods have improved somewhat, the trafficking continues.
“In fact it’s on the rise. The more the law enforcement agencies perfect strategies to stop it, the more the traffickers find sophisticated ways of running their trade,” said Mairo Bello, head of Adolescent Health Information Project, a Kano-based NGO.
Some of the teenage workers are raped or beaten by their employers and NAPTIP keeps a dormitory for such girls.
“We now have two girls in our custody who were raped by their masters, one of them four-month pregnant and another one that had ground chilli pepper poured into her private parts by her mistress for not washing a plate well,” Ahmed said.

Here is an interesting piece, and another reason for the United States to deport the UN (I am sure the socialists in Europe would welcome them, as they are united in dhimmification), terrorist lovers that they are, and stop sanctioning Iran, and start bombing their terrorist training camps. And a great reason to cut ALL aid to the Palestinian terrorists.
The UN has long effectively behaved as a club of terror, excusing, ignoring or condoning acts of terrorism and tyranny while repeatedly singling out their principal state victim, Israel, for grotesque condemnation. The role of its relief agency UNWRA in supervising ‘refugee camps’ which are factories of terrorism has long been deeply compromised. Israel has repeatedly claimed that terrorists operate under the cover of UNWRA vehicles and facilities. The UN however has always strenuously denied any involvement whatsoever in such activities. Now however Reuters tells us that the headmaster of a UN school in Gaza, Awad al-Qiq who was killed last week in an Israeli air strike on a ‘mechanic’s workshop’, taught by day and made rockets for Islamic Jihad by night. Wrapped in an Islamic Jihad flag, he was buried as a terrorist hero.
Total mind-blower, a UN official in Gaza engaged in terrorism, right?

While blasting Israel and the US he couldn’t find any words to criticize Syria or North Korea for violating international law by pursuing un-authorized nuclear proliferation.
Once again, the anti-Israel bias of the UN shows it’s ugly face.
El-Baradei is upset that he wasn’t told sooner about the intelligence gathered at the secret Syrian nuclear site, and blasts Israel and the US for not telling him beforehand about the plans to destroy it.
The head of the UN nuclear monitoring agency on Friday criticized the US for not giving his organization intelligence information sooner on what Washington says was a nuclear reactor in Syria being built secretly by North Korea.
IAEA Director General Mohamed ElBaradei also chastised Israel for bombing the site seven months ago, in a statement whose strong language reflected his anger at being kept out of the picture for so long.
“The Director General deplores the fact that this information was not provided to the Agency in a timely manner, in accordance with the Agency’s responsibilities under the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), to enable it to verify its veracity and establish the facts,” ElBaradei’s office said.
Additionally, “the Director General views the unilateral use of force by Israel as undermining the due process of verification that is at the heart of the non-proliferation regime,” it said.
ElBaradei did not criticize North Korea or Syria in his statement.

Ok, the environmentalist nutjobs are in full force at the UN. And what’s even more pathetic, is that the leftists in America and Europe would gladly step in-line to this crazy ideological stance on global warming.
Why not? Kill two birds with one stone, right? haha, nice try morons…
Once in a while the truth accidentally tumbles out on global warming activists’ real agenda. That’s exactly what happened at the U.N., when Bolivia’s leader called for ending capitalism to save the planet.
IBD has a great article that makes this guy look like just another leftist communist clown.
Delivering the keynote address at the United Nations forum on Indigenous People on Monday, Bolivia’s President Evo Morales told the adoring crowd that “if we want to save our planet earth, to save life, to save mankind, we have a duty to put an end to the capitalist system.”
Morales elaborated on that by calling for an end to “unbridled industrial development, extraction of natural resources, excessive consumption of goods and accumulation of waste.”
More conveniently, he also demanded that trillions of dollars from the West be diverted to places like Bolivia, “to repair the earth.”
Seldom has the environmentalist agenda to end the capitalist system been laid out so plainly.
But in reality, it’s capitalism — combined with the framework that enables it to flourish, like rule of law and property rights — that has lifted billions of people out of poverty and improved the environment. Contrary to Morales’ assertions, the most capitalist countries are also the cleanest.
According to a 2006 study by the Heartland Institute, free enterprise does more to protect the environment than state intervention.
“The nations that have the best track records on environmental protection and improvement are those with the highest amount of free-market capitalism,” wrote Samuel Aldrich and Jay Lehr, in “Free Enterprise Protects the Environment.”
Morales is a Marxist, so the environmental records of the communist and socialist systems he touts to save the earth are instructive.
After communism fell in Eastern Europe, some of the biggest revelations were about how vast the pollution was in countries where no one was permitted to own or care for land.
Getting rid of capitalism created the black rivers of China, filled Eastern Europe’s skies with unfiltered coal and diesel exhaust, brought deforestation that’s led to sandstorms in China, spilled oil that destroyed Siberian lakes, and poisoned land with mercury and nickel waste in large swaths of Eastern Europe and Cuba.
It also brought the still-dead nuclear devastation of Chernobyl. Diverse as these regions are, the lack of capitalism means there was no accountability or incentives to save the earth.
And, sadly, it’s still that way now. According to the Blacksmith Institute, the 10 most polluted places on earth are in Azerbaijan, China, India, Peru, Russia, Ukraine and Zambia, all of which have long histories of communism, socialism or nationalist isolation, the very alternatives Morales proposes to replace capitalism.
Morales’ attack on capitalism represents the real agenda for the radical environmentalists. They seek global governance and an end to private property, an unsalable concept given the record of communist countries. So they’re marketing it under a new brand name, wrapped in the greener concept of “saving the earth.”

Finally someone speaks up…
GENEVA - The United States, Canada and some European countries said Tuesday that Islamic nations were trying to limit freedom of speech at the UN by trying to make an independent rights expert scrutinize individuals instead of dictatorial regimes.
The amendment passed by the UN Human Rights Council in its rush to adjourn Friday told its expert on freedom of expression to report on people who abuse their free speech rights to espouse racial and religious discrimination.
It’s no wonder that those who want to deny free-speech are all coming from Islamic countries…translation…Islam=Anti-Freedom=incompatible with democracy
The 47-nation council is dominated by Arab and other Muslim countries.
Pakistani Ambassador Masood Khan, who was speaking on behalf of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, denied that the resolution would limit free speech.
Islamic groups have been demanding limits on free speech since a Danish magazine published caricatures of Muhammad, provoking riots across the Islamic world in 2006.
Ligabo told the Associated Press in an interview last month that he was against any groups of individuals inciting hatred based on religious belief.
And then, some sanity…
Paris-based group Reporters Without Borders condemned the amendment.
“It turns someone who is supposed to defend freedom of opinion into a prosecutor whose job is to go after those who abuse this freedom,” it said.
New York-based Human Rights Watch said the resolution turns the expert’s mandate into a policing function over individual freedom of expression and questioned the very basis of media freedom and independence.
